Lovely evening out
My partner and I had an anniversary dinner here recently and it was really nice. We booked a table online, which was super easy. I had the dry-aged steak and he had the wild venison, both were absolutely delicious. The atmosphere was pretty cozy too, not too stuffy. We also tried some of their signature cocktails, which were decent. It was a bit pricier than what we usually spend, but it felt worth it for a special night. We'll probably go back for a Sunday roast sometime.
Best sticky toffee pudding!
I had dinner at The Forge Chester for my birthday and it was fantastic! The pork belly was incredible, so tender and crispy. But seriously, the sticky toffee pudding was out of this world, the best I've ever had! The whole evening was just perfect, the staff were so friendly. I'm already planning to go back for their Sunday roast with my family!
Great tasting menu
Had the tasting menu last Saturday. Food was excellent. Every dish, especially the duck breast, was perfectly done. Staff were attentive. Would recommend for a special occasion.
Good food, service a bit slow
I went for the set lunch menu last week and generally had a good experience. The grilled sea bream was cooked perfectly and the wood-fired vegetables were really flavorful. I appreciated that they use local ingredients, you could definitely taste the freshness. The value for the set lunch was excellent. However, the service felt a little stretched, especially when we were waiting for our dessert order and then the bill. It wasn't a huge issue, but it did make the meal run longer than I expected for a lunch. I'd still go back, but maybe not if I was in a rush.
